I'll have to check out Woodard. IIRC, my folks from Baden initially lived in York, PA, but they didn't stay long enough for any of them to die there-- the original guy seems to have packed up his family and moved to NC in pretty short order. From what I've read, land in PA was getting too scarce/expensive, and a lot of them headed south at that point. The moravians get all the history-book mentions, and may have been the first group, but our guys were apparently Lutherans. Checking back... looks like it took them a couple generations after that to end up in GA-- one forgets how wild the terrain was at the time.
