Thank you for this post. There are so many good things here - your process for forgiving your roommates, your thoughts about the different subcultures being expressions of God, the Dion Fortunes quote.
Some random thoughts:
When I started (and to the extent that I continue) holding the idea that every person has the image of God, my relationships got amazingly better.
Have you written about how you got into occult ritual as a Christian? I ask because I have been extremely hesitant, as you might imagine a person raised Southern Baptist would be. Dion’s quote is very moving. I’m thinking of the very obvious 1 John 3:7, “the one who practices righteousness is righteous”, and it makes me want to read her books.
Finally - a while back when I was reading Elkhart Tolle’s books, I realized that Matthew 5:38-44 was an awfully good way to cause the ego to wither up.
