Funny. No, it says "ptochoi pneumati." The word "ptochoi" comes from a root meaning "to crouch" and refers to beggars crouching in the street; "pneumati" is an adjective form of pneuma, meaning spirit (or breath.) That reminds me of some modern Bibles I've seen where they put scarequotes around the word "gods" when it turns up. There were no scare quotes in ancient Hebrew; when the 82nd psalm says "God stands in the congregation of the mighty; he judges among the gods" it means what it says. Similarly, the text here doesn't mean that poor people are blessed in spirit, but that spiritually poor people are blessed.
