Hmm. Well stones could represent the Earth. So it seems the devil was trying to get Jesus to change the Earth, or material reality, strictly for his own gratification. I suppose that would be using his "magic" inappropriately? Jesus was born in the House of Bread, then he was tempted to use his power to gratify himself by changing the earth into bread to satisfy his hunger. Ultimately he used his power to spiritually nourish his followers instead. I suppose that is an inversion of what the devil intended for him to do as he behaved selflessly. There's probably more there to unearth; I'll think it over.
