So far I've heard back from a friend of mine who's a cantor at a church in Texas. He said "it's an area where the Orthodox practice of 'veneration from the ground up' plays to an advantage" because post-schism saints won't show up on church calendars, but they might be part of private devotion or local churches. He mentioned an Hispanic Western rite church in his area that held akathist hymns on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
