Very interesting. I greatly look forward to hearing what you have to say about the particular American regional cultures, and how it relates to what you've described above. American regional cultures is a particular interest of mine and I've long been an agreement with the idea that there was never a singular "American" unity. I think this false ideal is behind a lot of the problems we see in American political discourse today. I'm constantly seeing people on both the left and the right (and the center) trying to impose a homogenous concept of Americaness that has never really existed.
