I have scoured my notes.

My first notes on discrimination were from reading this website, that mentions that the Virtue associated with Malkuth is Discrimination. http://www.digital-brilliance.com/themes/evil.php

My second notes were when I was researching Herakles. Hermes gifted Herakles a sword 'to divide and cut' with precision, the sword being a symbol of the Mind, mental analysis, and discrimination.

My most recent notes were from the Roscicrucian Cosmo Conception, available here https://ia600304.us.archive.org/15/items/rosicruc00hein/rosicruc00hein.pdf. On page 473, the author is dissecting the Lord's Prayer, explaining how each part relates to things:

"The prayer for the mind is 'Deliver us from evil.' We have seen that mind is the link between the higher and the lower natures. Animals are permitted to follow desire without any restriction whatever. In their case, there is neither good nor evil, because they lack mind, the faculty of discrimination."

In my meditations on that, I thought about Ain to Ain Soph to Ain Soph Aur and how Ain Soph has to separate (discriminate) from Ain Soph Aur and that happens again in Chokmah when the Creator recognizes himself as separate from his Creation (a form of discrimination). (And in the back of my head, there's that quote about being like Gods, knowing Good and Evil.) So in my notes on the Rosicrucian Cosmo Conception, I wrote Creation requires discrimination. And the book discusses discrimination much more that what I included here (and though some of the book isn't wonderful, a lot of it is really good and I recommend reading it), but it doesn't use the exact phrase "Creation requires discrimination". I think that was just how I distilled my understanding to something I could write down.

(And I searched through the Levi book. It doesn't seem to have the word 'discrimination' in it, but Levi definitely has influenced by understanding of duality and trinity.)
